Watch John’s Wellness Journey

This week has had its challenges to say the least. Eating the healthy meal can be such a pain and it is really easy to just not do it. I just didn’t feel like cooking on certain days and that alone can ruin any successes you have had up to that point. I love pizza and it was hard saying no to it when it is sitting there waiting for you when you get home from work. I promised myself that if I ate any that I would be working out hard that night to get rid of any trace of it in my body. After my pizza and a nap, I felt absolutely no energy to work out. My guilt kicked in around 10pm that night and I actually got up and jumped on the treadmill while watching the hockey game. It was a great decision and I am glad that I did it. In week 1 I was down 4 pounds early in the week but, I must have done something wrong because I found myself up 3 pounds. Then the temptation of pizza hit me and I knew there could be a problem come weigh in time. I refused to lose the battle this week after coming so far. I doubled the workouts to both morning and night time and added the Biggest Loser Cardio DVD to my workout (OMG!!!). Here I stepped on the scale and had a nice weight loss for the 2nd week. I am almost down 30 pounds and that alone is eye-opening. I want to ride the wave of emotion and energy into next week and hope that I can limit the temptations and have another good week. Only 4 more weeks until Cancun and, I have to look good for the trip. More to come…..

Great job John!! I’m proud of you and I know your family is too!! I think I am going to try some of Maria’s exercises at home. They look pretty easy and not so stressful on the joints as I have to be careful with my artificial hips Ha Ha. Can you imagine if you just lost 3 pounds a week until Christmas?? People could get you clothes for Christmas presents. That is what I will shoot for following your lead and Maria’s :0))) Can’t wait for the next video! By the way, your wedding picture is absolutely beautiful. You two look so very happy and WOW you were slim! You can look that way again…it’s within your grasp! Go for it!

I love the videos and the fact that you’re putting yourself out there to help yourself and others. The only thing I would suggest is for the camera person to get closer when filming your conversations with the coach. It’s hard to hear and the far away view is only good when showing the floor plank exercise. The fact that you’re showing an approachable side to wellness, would come across better with a closer view of the conversation. I also love the personal photo at the end. Great job and good luck!!

Thanks Sandra. It has been really great that my wife Sherrie and my daughter Meghan and son Jake have been there for me in this quest for a healthy lifestyle. They have been my anchor and my rock.

Your lovely wife and awesome son and daughter are your blessings and how fortunate you are to have their support! Since I am not in the office today, I expect you to eat your cucumbers and tomatoes for a snack and your soup for lunch (your idea bucko and I have installed cameras so no extra snacking…Just kidding because I know how committed you are! In fact, if it weren’t for you, I would have probably gained 8 pounds instead of lost. Between dr. appts., that’s exactly what I will be eating today! I used salsa with raw brocolli and cauliflower last night for a snack and man was that really good! Now I have a favorite snack to have while watching T.V. :0) Ed was amused and he liked it as well :0))) He also watched your video with me and he was impressed! Changing your lifestyle to healthy is not for the whimpy alright! Can’t wait for the third week!

I know that planks are a challenge, but they really do the trick. Keep up the great work! 🙂
