Healthy Grilling Tips for your 4th of July Feasts

Cook up some good health with these grilling tips:

  • Ditch the beef and use lean turkey burgers or veggie burgers

  • Try sandwich slim buns

  • Cut the creamy sauce in your coleslaw and make it with apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar

  • Slash the fat in potato salad and use low fat yogurt, Greek yogurt or low fat miracle whip instead of full fat mayo

  • Chips and dip? Use baked chips and hummus

  • Instead of a pasta salad, make a high fiber, low fat bean and corn relish (black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro and fresh squeezed lemon)

  • Lastly, be active and burn calories! Play backyard games, volleyball, go for a walk or chase after the kids!
